Overview
Community Extension Programs, Inc. (CEP) has enjoyed a 50-year tradition of serving the needs of Tucson’s youth and their families. Our community-based programs have included: a well-established before and after-school childcare (PAL Program), high school and summer bridge programs, remediation classes and adult community education courses, among many others. When schools closed in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, CEP completely transformed the direction of our work into a fully philanthropic institution with a focus on providing relief and resources to Tucsonans in need. Our newly focused organization has sponsored programs from established non-profits such as the Assistance League of Tucson and Youth on Their Own to further our mission. Today, as we begin our second year of philanthropic work in our community, CEP has entered the crucial phase of developing and executing our own programs including college scholarships for deserving, underserved high school seniors and the distribution of funds to local elementary schools to assist those without access to educational supplies and other necessities that might help level the playing field of success for all of our community’s students.
